img Christiane Alba-Simionesco take the head of the LLB
imgChristiane Alba-Simionesco becomes director of the LLB (Laboratoire Léon Brillouin). She takes the succession of Philippe Mangin that reached the end of his contract. She obtained her PhD in chemical physics at the Pierre et Marie Curie University in 1984. After a post-doc with Prof. Angell in the United-States, she joints CNRS at the Laboratoire de Chimie Physique of the Université Paris 6. In 1992 she moved to the Laboratoire de Chimie Physique des Materiaux Amorphes (CPMA) at Orsay. In 2000, the group is integrated in the new Laboratoire de Chimie Physique where she takes the lead of the TESMaC group (Thermodynamique Experimentale et Statistique de la Matiere Condensée). She becomes deputy director in 2006. Her research focuses on the thermodynamics, structure and dynamics of molecular condensed phases, liquid, solid and amorphous. In the aim of extracting a molecular description of their macroscopic properties, she proposes several experimental techniques and methods bridging the gap between time and space scales, improving theoretical concepts and analytical modelling.
