Thank you for your participation to JDN22 !
The next edition will take place at Evian-les-Bains, 2015 Oct. 5th-8th.

We remind you that the pdf files of all the teaching supports of the School are available on on the download page.

You can also download photos from the JDN22 on the "Photos" web page.
Overview
barque_Oleron Traditionally, every year, the SFN (French Neutrons Society) organizes a school on a particular aspect of the techniques of neutron scattering, with the support of local neutron centers, Laboratoire Léon Brillouin and Institut Laue-Langevin. This school is continued by the Rossat-Mignod meeting, where are presented recent results obtained by neutron scattering. The first half-day of the meeting is shared with the school and is dedicated to oral contributions on the theme of the School. The School and the Meeting together form the Neutron Diffusion Days (JDN).
The 22nd edition, the JDN22 will be held from September 21rst to 26th in the Charentes Region, on the Oléron Island. The JDN22 will be hosted by the CNRS Center, La Villa Perrotine (www.caes.cnrs.fr/vacances/nos-villages/la-vieille-perrotine)

Photo CAES CNRS The year, the thematic school «CRYSTALLOGRAPHY AND NEUTRONS » (September 21rst-24th) will celebrate the International Year for Crystallography. It will be focused on the specific assets of neutron scattering (magnetism, light atoms, contrast methods) for the studies of very diverse materials, in comparaison with the other characterisation methods available. It will focus on the technics adapted to crystalline materials (diffraction, reflectometry, triple-axes spectrometry,...), their main applications fields and their limitations. It will present the technical caracteristics of the neutron spectrometers available to the European users from the Chemistry, Physics or Material Sciences communities.

This school is dedicated to beginners and advanced researchers wishing to explore and use the capabilities of neutron scattering. The training will take place over four days, during which lectures on the different techniques of neutron scattering (diffraction, inelastic scattering, reflectometry) will be provided with alternate sessions Hands. The specificity of these techniques and their complementarity with other laboratory techniques (diffraction and X-ray scattering, X reflectivity, Raman spectroscopy and inelastic X scattering) will be highlighted.
The school intends to promote interaction between users of Large Research Infrastructures and Actors of the latter.

The school will be followed by a scientific conference (September 24th-26th), the « Rencontres Rossat-Mignod » presenting new results obtained by neutron scattering in more general thematics relevant to the entire scientific community. Each session will be introduced by a plenary invited communication and will continue through oral communications. A poster session will be held in the evening.
