BD diffusons les neutrons

img VITESS 3.6 released

the VITESS software package for the simulation of neutron scattering instruments and virtual neutron experiments is now hosted by Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ) in Germany.
The program has been greatly revised and offers several new general features (e.g. instrument and trajectory visualization for all modules, input and output of events in all common formats, updated reflectivity curves if only the m-value is given), 2 new modules (screen, filter2D), and several improved modules (e.g. option for CANS sources in 'source', curved diverging/converging in 'guide'). For a complete list, read the release note.

An internal version 3.5 was used for thorough tests of the developments of the program. Now, the version 3.6 has been released and can be downloaded from the current VITESS website at FZJ: https://iffgit.fz-juelich.de/vitess/vitess/-/releases

We hope that you will download and use it. Any feedback is welcome; it can be sent to 'vitess@fz-juelich.de'.
In the future, we will release new versions more often. We are currently working on VITESS 3.7 and on a version 4 with a new user interface, instruments stored in yaml format and largely improved options for usage as digital twins.

With kind regards,

   the VITESS team
