Reaction dynamics upon He-droplets

Head of the team:  Marc Briant/Marc-André gaveau

The general objective is to unravel through which mechanisms solvation affects the dynamics of reactions.  Both reactions of electronically excited and ground state species are considered. Two set-up are used for this purpose:

  1. The CICR set-up where the CICR (Cluster Isolated Chemical Reaction) technique was invented. Here, photo induced processes are studied. Originally devoted to the isolation on heavy rare gas clusters, this set-up is now adapted to the isolation on helium droplets for performing HENDI experiments (Helium NanoDrolet Isolation).
  2. The GOUTTELIUM set-up allows spectrscopy in the infrared with the possibility of turning on reactions by vibrational excitation.

This research direction was lunched, thank to a funding of the ANR (projet BLANC - GOUTTELIUM in collaboration with ISMO, Paris-Sud University. It is presently funded by Triangle de la Physique (structuring project NOSTADYNE in collaboration with ISMO and LCP, Paris-Sud University)
