De: Karen Diederichsen Envoyé: mercredi 15 juin 2011 11:19 À: neutron@neutronsources.org Objet: [Neutron] Postdoctoral Research Scientist Pièces jointes: ATT16287967.txt Reference No. G 2011/2 The Department Research with Spallation Neutrons Campus Wannsee is looking for a Postdoctoral Research Scientist. Payment according to the Tarifvertrag für den öffentlichen Dienst (TVöD). The appointment is valid for three years. The Helmholtz Center Berlin for Materials and Energy (hxxp://www.helmholtz-berlin.de/) is a German National Laboratory and a member of the Hermann von Helmholtz Association of National Research Centres. It hosts the Berlin Neutron Scattering Centre and the Berlin Synchrotron Radiation Source BESSY, which are outstanding user facilities open to scientists from all over the world. The department G- A1 (Research with Spallation Neutrons) operates the cold-neutron triple-axis instrument V2/FLEX with an international user community active in the fields of low-energy structural and magnetic excitations, strongly correlated electron systems, heavy-fermion physics and quantum magnetism. The current instrument upgrade program at FLEX is now in an advanced state. It aims at further enhancing the instrument capabilities and focuses on the optimization of neutron optical components including devices for polarized neutron work. The candidate is expected to take an active role in the commissioning of the instrument and transfering the instrument into full user service. The work will further include development and implementation of a multi-analyzer option for the secondary spectrometer with particular emphasis on data acquisition and visualisation software. The successful candidate will also participate in research work associated with the triple axis spectrometer and collaborate with renowned guest scientists from all over the world in a broad variety of subjects in the framework of the HZB user program. She/He is encouraged to conduct her/his own research programme in the field of condensed matter physics using neutron scattering facilities at HZB in general. As HZB cares about equal opportunities for men and women scientists, qualified women are especially encouraged to apply. Handicapped applicants will be given preference to others of equal qualification. For informal inquiries, please contact Dr. Klaus Habicht (email: habicht@helmholtz- berlin.de, phone +49-(0)30-8062-42807). Applicants should send a letter of application, a detailed CV, copies of diploma and PhD certificates, a list of publications and the contact details of three academic referees to the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin für Materialien und Energie GmbH, Abt. Personal und Soziales, Hahn-Meitner-Platz 1, D-14109 Berlin, Germany,(Email:personalabteilung@helmholtz-berlin.de) quoting reference no. G 2011/2. The deadline for the application is 15 July 2011.
