Cordialement Francois Background The Physic Section (PS) and Nuclear Science and Instrumentation Laboratory (NSIL) are considering the opening of a temporary P3 position, for 10 month, to support the implementation of the Neutron Science Facility (NSF) based on the utilisation of two neutron generators (DD and DT). The commissioning of the generators equipped with their shielding is currently planned in Q2 2021. It will be followed by the implementation and commissioning of a number of experiments including Neutron Radiography, Neutron Activation Analysis, and Radiotracers Production - for training purposes. The project also includes the expansion of the facility with the adaptation and modernization of the entire building (150 m2) to accommodate the NSF’s activities, which has been the object of a feasibility study concluded at the end of 2020. Function and duties Under the supervision of the Laboratory Head and Section Head, the P3 will oversee the implementation of the NSF and the development of its activities. With the support of NSIL and Physic Section staff, as well as the contribution and support of other IAEA Units, the P3 will oversee and coordinate the following key tasks: - Complete the commissioning of the two generators - Q2 2021 - Supervise the modelling (MCNP, PHITS), the design and installation of the NSF experiments - Q2 - Establish of the safety report in support of the commissioning and utilisation of the NSF experiments - Q2 - Establish the operating procedures for the routine utilisation of each experiments - Q3toQ4 - Supervise the establishment of the training manuals for each experiment - Q4 - Supervise the procurement process and construction work for the expansion of the NSF - Starting in Q2 Required qualification Master's Degree in Nuclear engineering, Nuclear physics, or related field.
