De: neutron-bounces@neutronsources.org de la part de Michael Schulz Envoyé: vendredi 28 juin 2019 09:33 À: neutron@neutronsources.org Objet: [Neutron] Open Position: PostDoc in Neutron Imaging at TUM, FRM II Pièces jointes: ATT00001.txt The Technical University Munich operates the high flux Neutron Source Heinz Maier-Leibnitz (FRM II) located at the scientific campus in Garching, Germany. The neutron source itself, its research instruments as well as the irradiation facilities provide unique possibilities for the scientific and industrial use of neutron beams. For the development of a new detector system at the imaging beam line ANTARES we invite applications (full time position 40.1 h/week) as PostDoc (m/f/d) The beam-line ANTARES is a high-resolution neutron imaging instrument, located at the high flux neutron source Heinz Maier-Leibnitz (FRM-II) in Garching, Germany. With one of the highest neutron fluxes worldwide and its cold neutron spectrum, ANTARES offers high sensitivity at short exposure times. Main applications of ANTARES lie in the fields of material science, battery research, magnetism and fuel cells. Moreover, our highly motivated team plays an important role in method development for neutron imaging. Description of position You will play a leading role in the development of a novel detector system for ANTARES, which will offer highest possible spatial resolution. The detector system will use a high-resolution camera system, which is optically coupled to a scintillator. In contrast to common systems, this detector will be capable of recording the light output of single neutron events and use a center-of-mass strategy to determine the location of the event with sub-pixel resolution. Your work includes project management, simulations, planning and - in close cooperation with engineers and technicians - design, construction and commissioning of the new instrument components. In addition, you will be encouraged to pursue your own research projects with a focus on neutron imaging. Qualification and Experience You have a degree in physics, chemistry, material science or related fields, ideally completed with a PhD / doctorate degree. You have knowledge in the field of neutron- or x-ray/synchrotron imaging. Experience with optical systems and detectors will be helpful. Good oral and written English skills are required, German language skills are an asset. The appointment is limited to 3 years. The payment is based on the German pay scale TV-L. The Technical University Munich is an equal opportunity employer. Therefore women are especially encouraged to apply. Handicapped applicants having an equivalent experience will be preferred. Further information on the position is given by Dr. Michael Schulz (phone +49 89 289 14718). Applications will be reviewed after July 14th, 2019 and are accepted until the position is filled. Applicants should send a letter of interest describing relevant experience including detailed curriculum vitae by regular or electronic mail (merged to a pdf file) to: Technische Universität München Forschungsneutronenquelle Heinz Maier-Leibnitz (FRM II) Personalabteilung Lichtenbergstraße 1; D-85747 Garching Phone: +49 89 289 14614 E-Mail: jobs@frm2.tum.de www.frm2.tum.de -- --- Dr. Michael Schulz Technische Universität München Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Zentrum (MLZ) Head of Neutron Imaging Group Lichtenbergstr.1 D - 85747 Garching Phone : +49-(0)89-289-14718 Fax : +49-(0)89-289-14997
