JOINT APPOINTMENT - POSTGRADUATE RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIP
 
CONDENSED MATTER SCIENCE – MAGNETISM
 
Applications are invited for the above scholarship for research studies into the structural and magnetic properties of advanced magnetic materials.  The position is available immediately. 
 
The experimentally based research project will include developmental and theoretical aspects in modern condensed matter science.  In addition to exploiting the neutron facilities at reactor OPAL, ANSTO, research will be carried out at the modern laboratories of the School of Physical, Environmental and Mathematical Sciences, UNSW@ADFA, Canberra and The Bragg Institute, ANSTO, Sydney. 
 
·       The Postgraduate Student will be enrolled for a PhD degree at UNSW@ADFA and be based primarily at The Bragg Institute, ANSTO in Sydney (about 70%) with the remaining periods at UNSW@ADFA in Canberra.  The scholarship ($26,000 per annum) is available for up to 3.5 years subject to satisfactory performanceApplicants should have an honours degree (1 or 2.1), or equivalent, in Physics, Physical Chemistry or a related subject.  People from EEO groups are encouraged to apply.
·       A contribution to relocation expenses and travel expenses associated with the position is available.
