The deadline for proposal submission is *Tuesday, 18 September 2007*,
midnight (European time)

Proposal submission is only possible electronically. Electronic
Proposal Submission (EPS) is possible via our Visitors Club
( http://club.ill.fr/cv/ ), once you have logged in with your personal
username and password.

Please allow sufficient time for any unforeseen computing hitches.

You will receive full support from the Visitors Club team. If you have
any difficulties at all, please contact our web-support ( club@ill.fr ).

C-Lab: Beam time and CPU time at ILL.*

In order to improve access to simulations for users, you will be able to 
request simulation support for your neutron scattering experiments on 
the official ILL proposal forms from September 2007.

In this first proposal round formally offering simulation support, 
interested users should tick the appropriate box on the proposal form 
and send a brief description to the C-Lab (johnson@ill.eu) of the 
simulations that they think would help their experimental program. All 
requests will be considered and it is probable that a sub-set of 
simulations will have to be selected relating to accepted proposals, 
simulation experience and resources at ILL.

The following instruments will be available for the forthcoming round
(instruments marked with an asterisk are CRG instruments, where a
smaller amount of beam time is available than on ILL-funded instruments).

• powder diffractometers: D1A, D1B*, D2B, D20, SALSA

• liquids diffractometer: D4

• polarised neutron diffractometers: D3, D23*

• single-crystal diffractometers: D9, D10, D15*, VIVALDI

• large scale structure diffractometers: D19, DB21, LADI

• small-angle scattering: D22

• reflectometers: ADAM*, D17

• small momentum-transfer diffractometer: D16

• diffuse-scattering spectrometer: D7

• three-axis spectrometers: IN1, IN8, IN12*, IN14, IN20, IN22*

• time-of-flight spectrometers: IN4, IN6, BRISP*

• backscattering and spin-echo spectrometers: IN10, IN11, IN13*, IN15, IN16

• nuclear-physics instruments: PN1, PN3

Please note that, due to the refurbishment project of *D11*, no beam time
will be available for this instrument in the first half of 2008.

Please note that *IN5* will not be available to external users for the 
first two cycles in 2008 (Installation of the new time-of-flight chamber 
with the position sensitive detectors)

Evaluation panels*

The submitted proposals will be evaluated by the ILL subcommittee
meetings on 6-7 November 2007. Next proposal deadline will be on 4 March
2008.

Scheduling period*

Those proposals accepted at the next round will be scheduled during the
first two cycles in 2008.
